Lauren Chang

Project Coordinator

Lauren Chang (she/her) is a fourth-year anthropology student at the University of Guelph. This project is based on her current research on COVID-19 misinformation among Canadian immigrant communities. She is a sometimes singer, sometimes writer, and always procrastinator.

Nelson Huang

Website Lead

Nelson Huang is a fourth year Health Sciences student at McMaster University.  His hobbies include taking long walks, reading bizarre fiction, and climbing trees and other odd structures. His dream is to one day conduct an orchestra in Carnegie Hall.

Alex He

Hello! My name is Alex. I am a 4th year Anatomy and Cell Biology Student at McGill aspiring to eventually become a Doctor. I am passionate about healthcare, and about keeping people informed on what is important to stay healthy and happy.

Tianyu Lu

Scientific Advisor

Tianyu Lu is a fourth year Bioinformatics and Computational Biology student at the University of Toronto. He is interested in machine learning models for protein design. Occasional pizza maker.

Charmaine Chang

Charmaine Chang (she/her) is a second-year medical sciences student at the University of Western Ontario. If she hasn’t escaped into a romance novel, you’ll be sure to find her setting off smoke alarms in the kitchen, or as she likes to call it, baking.

Aimee Sham

Infographics Lead

Aimee (she/her) is a fourth year biological sciences student at the University of Guelph. If you don’t find her working with children and teens, you’ll find her binge watching Friends, Brooklyn 99, and Full House with a lot of sushi and bubble tea.

Jane Tsang

Design Lead

Jane Tsang (she/her) is currently a third year Sociology and Business student at the University of Waterloo. She likes to paint, draw, and design clothing. You can see more of her clothing designs and art on Instagram at @somethingobscene and @yeehawdog.

Michelle Nyamekye

Social Media and Advertising Coordinator

Michelle Nyamekye is a B.Ed student with teachables in Drama and Indigenous Studies at Queen’s University. The coolest thing about her is probably that she’s toured a show about sexual education in Saskatchewan and the Northwest Territories

Thuriga Balasubramanium

Video Coordinator

Thuriga Bala is an actor with a Broadcasting Radio diploma from Humber College. She also runs an art business NatureWolfStudios where she sells handmade jewelry and paintings.
